Greenboro Dental: COVID-19 Protocols
What you need to know before booking your next dental appointment
LAST UPDATE: January 4, 2023. 10:52 AM
At Greenboro Dental, Dr. Cameron Ho and the team are committed to bringing an unparalleled dental experience to our patients. Dentistry remains an essential service and we are open for all dental services (including hygiene/cleanings) by appointment only.
Below are the most up to date COVID-19 safety procedures for booking your appointment and when arriving at your scheduled appointment:
NEW: We strongly encourage all patients to continue wearing masks. However, it is mandatory for all patients to a wear a mask if they are (but not limited to): experiencing cold like symptoms, come into contact with any suspected cases of COVID-19, or recently travelled by air. Masks are still required to be worn by all staff.
Please ensure you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Calling upon arrival is no longer required to enter. Please see below for further details.
Our COVID-19 health and safety practices remain in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Health, Ottawa Public Health, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. The health and safety of our patients and staff have always been our top priority.
The important changes we continue to practice to keep you and our staff safe:
BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT
BOOK AN APPOINTMENT: Only patients with confirmed scheduled appointments may visit Greenboro Dental. No walk-ins will be accepted at this time until further notice. New and existing patients are welcomed. We encourage patients to use our easy online appointment request form here, or give us a call at (613) 738-1832
DENTAL EMERGENCIES: Please feel free to contact us at anytime and as always you can count on us to get you in as soon as possible. We still require any existing or new patients to contact us first so we can provide a preliminary assessment over the phone and, if possible, provide direction for a temporary solution to alleviate some pain prior to your in-person appointment. A scheduled appointment is still required for dental emergencies so we can manage our schedule for social distancing practices.
CONSULTATIONS: We have resumed in-person consultations and will continue to offer virtual consultations to minimize unnecessary traveling.
PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE: All patients are required to complete a COVID-19 pre-screening questionnaire (industry-standard questions) at the time of booking.
CANCELLATIONS: If you are feeling unwell before or on the date of your scheduled appointment, please give us a call in advance at (613) 738-1832 so we can reschedule your appointment for a future date. We would appreciate advance notice of cancellation to be a minimum of 2 business days prior to your scheduled appointment if your reason for cancellation is non-COVID related.
FILL OUT FORMS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT: To minimize contact, we encourage all patients to fill out their forms online prior to their scheduled appointment by downloading the forms from this page. You can either fill out the forms:
A) Digitally using a PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat and email the completed version to info@greenborodental.com (preferred option to minimize contact); or
B) Print and complete the forms at home and bring them to your appointment; or
C) Printed forms could be provided and completed at our clinic before your appointment. However, please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment for this option.INSURANCE COVERAGE: If you have an insurance plan that includes dental coverage, please ensure that you double-check the details from your specific plan before arriving at your scheduled appointment. Staff will not have access to view your insurance plan coverage, as it is your confidential information with the insurance company. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
ACCOMPANYING GUESTS: To maintain social distancing during your visit, we ask all patients to arrive at their scheduled appointment alone. Accompanying guests are only allowed for young patients (please limit to 1 parent), or if we notify you that an accompanying guest is recommended to bring along with you to your appointment based on your dental treatment.
DURING YOUR VISIT
ARRIVAL: Please ensure you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Calling upon arrival is no longer required to enter. Please enter the clinic (only if you do not have any COVID-19 related symptoms) to check in to your appointment. Failure to arrive on time may result in the potential for your treatment to not be fully completed in the same visit, or rescheduling your appointment may be required.
MASKS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED FOR ALL PATIENTS, however they are MANDATORY for patients under the following (but not limited to) circumstances: if you are experiencing cold-like symptoms, have come into contact with suspected cases of COVID-19, or if you have recently travelled by air.
SCREENING UPON ARRIVAL: For safety measures, each patient is required to either verbally confirm or complete an online COVID-19 screening form (via QR code) and complete a temperature check before your treatment. We have hand sanitizer readily available for all patients to sanitize their hands upon entering. Greenboro Dental reserve the right to re-schedule any patient who has a temperature above 37.5°C.
PAYMENT: Contactless tap is available through our payment device. We encourage all patients to bring debit or credit cards to their appointment with contactless ‘tap’ enabled to help promote a minimal contact environment. We will still be submitting your dental benefits claims electronically or via mail for you as we have done in the past. Our payment device and any contact surfaces will be thoroughly sanitized after each patient.
OUR TEAM: COVID SAFETY PRACTICES
BARRIERS & SANITIZATION: We have installed plexiglass barriers at our receptionist desk and will be sanitizing contact surfaces in the waiting room between patients. Our team sanitizes all treatment rooms between each patient so you can feel at ease during your appointment.
VACCINATION & SCREENING: All staff members of the Greenboro Dental team are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Temperature and COVID-19 screening are required daily of each staff before starting their shift.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): All staff of Greenboro Dental will wear masks, gloves, face shields, and PPE as an enhanced safety measure specific to each treatment being rendered.
HEPA GRADE MEDICAL AIR PURIFICATION UNITS: A medical-grade air purifier has been installed in our waiting room and in each treatment room.
ENCLOSED TREATMENT ROOMS: All treatment rooms are closed with a barrier door and are thoroughly sanitized between each appointment.
We thank you for your loyalty and trust in Greenboro Dental as we continuously uphold a safe environment for your dental care needs.
Stay Safe and Be Well,
The Greenboro Dental Team
